You hold my eyes in yours

Look at these guys:
Look like a ray of sunshine, don't they?
Photo taken here.

The Cure has an image of being dark and twisty and oh-so-depressed. You wouldn't think that they have borderline cheesy love songs, but they do.

One of my favorite Cure songs, and possibly my favorite love song ever, is Halo. It never fails to get me all soft, mushy, and emotional, no matter what mood I'm in.

Halo

I never felt like this with anyone before
You only have to smile and I'm dizzy
You make the world go 'round a thousand times an hour
Just touch my head and send me spinning

I never felt like this with anyone before
You show me colors and I'm crying
You hold my eyes in yours and open up the world
I can't believe all this
I can't believe all this

I want to keep this feeling deep inside of me
I want you always in my heart
You are everything
You are everything

I never felt like this with anyone before
You fill my head all full of rainbows
And all the rainbows is
Is every step you take
Is to be with you forever

I want to keep this feeling deep inside of me
I want you always in my heart
You are everything
You are everything
You are everything

*sighs* *wipes a tear*

You know what else I love about this? What is in my opinion one of their best songs is actually a b-side. A goddamn b-side. As in, "a lesser track than the single a-side". That should say a lot about how awesome their a-side songs are. There's more to The Cure than Friday, I'm in Love and Boys Don't Cry!
